New Pilot Briefing for
Veteran Pilots So you know the difference between a VOR and an ILS but you've never had the thrill of flying online. You've come to the right place. Our team of managers are always available to help pilots transition into the world of online flying. So just what is this online flying? It means using special software that interfaces with flight simulator. You'll be able to fly under the guidance of real people operating as virtual air traffic controllers. The program, SquawkBox, will open an entirely new level of realism for you. To begin the process you'll need to apply for a VATSIM Pilot ID number. It's simple, and it's free. Go to VATSIM, click on the "Join Now" link and complete the application process. You'll also want to download a copy of Roger Wilco, software that will allow you to speak to these virtual air traffic controllers and fellow pilots flying online. We also recommend you download a copy of FSNavigator. This is an excellent real time navigation tool that makes your flights much easier to navigate. Remember, you have an entire
Airline behind you. If you have
any questions or need any assistance contact your Hub Manager.
They are there to help you. Once you've completed your first
online flight, you'll be asking yourself - "why didn't I do
this sooner!"
