In response to the terrible tragedy of the December 26, 2004 earthquake and tsunami in India and Asia, Altair Virtual Airlines is encouraging pilots to make a difference. This flight from KLAX to Sri Lanka is indeed a long haul, and may require fuel stops in order to transport as many supplies as possible.

Firefighting Training - Fire Suppression Tactics

Aircraft: DC-7C AVAS

Departing Airfield: PANC
Arriving Airfield: PANC

You will fly to VFR to CHICK intersection (located approximately 16 miles south of PANC).

Upon arrival at CHICK make a right hand turn and head west for 5 nm. Then turn right and head back towards CHICK intersection and prepare for your first drop. Drop airspeed should be 220 knots at an altitude of 500. Mark your drop directly over CHICK intersection and make a right hand turn exiting the drop area to the southwest. Continue to perform these approaches and drops until you feel comfortable with the aircraft and mission. Then return to PANC for debriefing.
